Our Next Adventure

first-home-1

Right from the start Kevin and I knew 2014 was going to be a year to remember – how could it not be with our wedding kicking things off back in January?

While on honeymoon we spent quite a bit of time lounging in the sun dreaming up where life would take us over the year to come. We were tossing up two pretty big decisions – go on a big trip to Europe, or buy our first home.

It wasn’t a quick decision – some of our very best friends are now living in the UK and we desperately want to visit them (and tick a few things off the life list!), but we equally wanted to buy a home of our own and begin building our life as a married couple in our very own space.

Well, after all this deliberation I have some rather exciting news that I can’t wait to share with you…

We bought a house!

first-home-2

It all happened so much quicker than we ever imagined it would. We planned on buying a house towards the end of the year, depending on a lot of ‘ifs’. If we had enough of a deposit. If we could find something we loved. If all the pieces fell into place.

Then all of a sudden, all these ifs came together before our eyes. We realised we had more of a deposit than we ever imagined (thank you KiwiSaver!). We found a house we both fell head over heels in love with. Our offer got accepted. All the various reports came back glowing.

And now – we’ve bought a house!

It’s going to be a busy couple of weeks as we pack up our current house and get everything ready for when moving day rolls around at the beginning of June. An action packed couple of weeks, leading towards a super exciting day.

We absolutely love the place and can’t wait to share some photos of it with you once we’re all settled. In the meantime, here’s a little peek at the new High Tea with Dragon’s kitchen… I hope you like it!
