Happy Christmas Eve everyone!
I hope you’ve had a wonderful festive season so far and have managed to tick off all the Christmas baking you hoped to do. Luckily for me I finished my last piece of Christmas baking yesterday, so now there’s nothing left to do but enjoy the holiday – phew!
So what was the last item on my list? Edible Christmas scenes in jars, which are pretty much as cute as they sound. Each jar is filled with crumbled chocolate cake, lashings of vanilla bean buttercream and a little coconut ‘snow’, before being finished with a homemade marshmallow Christmas tree and mini gingerbread man. Cute huh?
Unfortunately time, life and bad-lightly got in the way of me pulling together a ‘how to’ post for these sweet little gifts this year, but I’ll definitely pop it on the list for next year.
But now, with much of the country logging off their computers and heading out into the sunshine, it’s time for High Tea with Dragons to take a short Summer break – I’ll still be posting photos on Facebook & Instagram though, so be sure to take a look.
A big thank you to each and every one of you for your support this past year – it’s been a goodie! As well as being a big year personally (we got married, bought a house and adopted kittens) it’s been an equally memorable year for High Tea with Dragons, and it simply wouldn’t have been possible without you. It still blows me away how many lovely people read, share and enjoy my posts each week and I’m hugely thankful for you all.
With a big trip to the USA and Europe ahead of us in 2015 to celebrate the wedding of one of my very best friends, Kevin and I aren’t taking any time off work this year. Instead we’ll be spending the summer basking in our front yard and checking out all the wonderful things Auckland has to offer. And sleeping, I can’t wait to a good sleep!
Like many people, High Tea with Dragons will be back in action on Monday 12 January. Until then, have a wonderful Christmas and New Year, and enjoy your summer break. Oh, and because we’re crazy cat-people, here’s our first Christmas family photo with the kittens from our family to yours. See you in 2015!
