There’s no denying that the past few weeks have been some of the most magical, busy, exciting and nerve-wracking weeks of my life. While High Tea with Dragons has ticked along like normal (thanks to the help of some fabulous blogging buddies), I’ve had a three week holiday from blogging… to get married!
The 24th of January was without a doubt the best day of my life – I married the most wonderful man in the world, in a beautiful garden ceremony, in gorgeous weather, surrounded by our family and friends. It was just perfect.
So much time and effort went into making the day so special – think hand-stitched table numbers (thanks Mum!), a gorgeous photobooth backdrop, and making and packaging over 700 (!) pieces of marshmallow – it would be remiss of me not to share a few of the details with you!
After our wedding we spent a couple of nights up at Orewa before heading to the airport to go on honeymoon. Kevin was incredible and planned an amazing secret honeymoon, with me only finding out where we were going once we arrived at the airport – he gave me the flight number, we checked the board and… we spent five amazing nights in Rarotonga!
It was such an incredible, relaxing trip – the sunshine, massages, swimming and sleep was exactly what we needed after such a full on year. Five nights later we were all packed to come home, when Kevin proved himself the most amazing husband ever – our airport transfer took us to the domestic airport rather than international and Kevin revealed we weren’t actually heading home, but spending two nights in the unbelievably perfect Aitutaki!
Now we’re back at home and already planning the next adventure – stay tuned! I’m relaxed, refreshed and itching to get into some baking. I have what I think will be some pretty awesome creations bubbling away in my mind that I can’t wait to share with you. I know it’s already February but bring on 2014!
