There’s so much going on during the festive season that it’s easy to get a bit overwhelmed – not only are there decorations to put up, gifts to buy and Christmas parties every other night, but chances are you have a whole lot of baking on your to-do list too.
That’s where this homemade chocolate and almond Christmas tree comes in. Whether you’re after something tasty to gift to a friend or pop in the middle of the table of Christmas day, this simple treat has got you covered.
Made entirely from melted chocolate, almonds and apricots, there’s no need to turn on the oven to make this festive treat which makes it perfect for kids to lend a hand with. And despite being so easy to make, the finished tree is a real showstopper.
The best part? You can pick up everything you need to make it with in this year’s Tasti Tin of Tremendousness – and let’s be honest, the tin is cute enough to buy anyway!
Just pick up the tin at your local supermarket and you have everything sorted – templates for the stars, all the delicious chocolate and Tasti fruit and nuts, plus step-by-step instructions that make creating your own chocolate and almond Christmas tree a breeze. Talk about taking the stress out of Christmas, right?
I love the look of chopped fruit and nuts, so trimmed the edges of the stars in my tree with a sharp knife just before it set completely to give the tree a little extra interest. Let’s be honest, who can resist breaking a piece off such a decadent chocolate tree when you can see all the treats inside it too?
With the stars set, all that’s left to do is stack them together using a little left-over melted chocolate as the glue and you’re all set! I finished mine with a dusting of edible glitter to give it a little extra shine (it is Christmas after all), but a simple sprinkle of icing sugar would be just as gorgeous.
Want to make one yourself? Then simply pick up the Tasti Tin of Tremendousness for $15.99 from all leading supermarkets – or enter below to be in to win one!
